Twelve Days of Christmas
Hello, Folks! We will celebrate this holiday season with a “Twelve Days of Christmas” tribute to my favorite candy/treats that my family and I love to make each Christmas. Check back tomorrow for our last entry or Days 1 through 10 to see a new recipe and find something that you like and will share with your family.
Oreo Truffles combine two of our favorite flavors: Oreo cookies and cream cheese. Several years ago, my sister-in-law Sherry brought some Oreo Truffles to Christmas dinner, and I had to have the recipe.
As delicious as they tasted, I was surprised that there are only two ingredients covered in chocolate. Of all of our candy recipes, this one is the easiest and quickest to make. Since they are so easy to make it also makes the perfect gift to share with family and friends. No one will turn down a bag or Christmas tin full of Oreo Truffles.
For our pictures today we thought we would change it up some with some Christmas colors. I took some color candy melts (green melting chocolate) and (red melting chocolate) and dipped the Oreo Truffles in them. I also melted some white melting chocolate as well to fill a squeeze bottle and then just piped the lines over the truffles. It’s very easy to decorate with a squeeze bottle or a piping bag if you happen to have one of those. My sister-in-law was the brains behind the squeeze bottle idea as well as the Truffles.
